1-2-3 Finish in the 50 Free Highlights Duel Meet

SMNW – Olathe North Duel Meet The Cougars threw down an 1-2-3 finish in the 50 free tonight against Olathe North.  Competing in a duel meet at the SMSD Aquatic Center, Scott Klein, Alex Savinkov, and Brian Harrell, all swam season best times in the 50 free.  Their times (Klein 21.82, Savinkov 23.18, Harrell 24.08)

Harrell and Klein Earn Victories at District Meet

2019 SMSD Championship Meet Brian Harrell and Scott Klein led the team with three 1st place finishes at the District Championship Meet this past Saturday.  Competing in the new SMSD Aquatic Center, Klein captured 1st place in the 50 free (21.99) and 100 free (49.25) earning state qualifying times in both events.  Harrell won the

Boys Swim Kicks Off Season at New Aquatic Center

The boys swim team will kick off the 2019-2020 season at the new Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center this Saturday at 11:30am.  The Cougars will face off against the four other Shawnee Mission schools.  Led by captains Scott Klein, Brian Harrell, and Alex Savinkov, the team will look to build on last year’s accomplishments.

Scott Klein, Brian Harrell, and Alex Savinkov were named team captains for the 2019-2020 boys swim season. Boys Swim Meeting – Nov. 6th (Last Meeting)

The last boys swim meeting for the upcoming season will be held this Wednesday November 6th at 2:40pm in room 241. If you’re planning on being part of the 2019-2020 team, make sure you are there.  Important information for both athlete and parents will be handed out.

Fall Winding Down, Winter Heating Up….Are You Ready?

With all fall sports, EXCEPT FOOTBALL, now completed, many student-athletes need to start making sure all their paper work is in for winter sports tryouts.  Remember that your physical packet (along with concussion form) are due prior to you starting practice.  All completed packets should be turned in to Mrs. Horseman in the athletic office

Unfinished Business

After two consecutive All-State performances at the Kansas 6A state meet, Scott Klein is approaching his senior year with an “unfinished business” mindset. Coming off a sophomore and junior campaign where Klein placed top 5 in the 50 freestyle, top 10 in the 100 free, and broke three school records at the state championship meet.  Klein

New Aquatic Center Almost Done

The new home for the SMNW Swim/Dive Team meets is almost complete.  Tentatively scheduled to be open in mid to late October, the new Aquatic Center is on pace to become a very dynamic natatorium.  The 50 meter pool, which can also convert into (2) 8 lane 25 yard pools, could be one of the
