Boys C Team Baseball, Boys Junior Varsity Baseball · Tough Night for Cougar Baseball

Cougar Subvarsity baseball stumbled against a solid Olathe Northwest squad.  The JV team lost both games, 10-2 and 10-3.  Early leads by the Ravens in both games were too much for the Cougar comeback.  In game one Caleb Shelby and Mason Thomas lead the offense with 2 hits apiece and Jack Groebe pitched an inning of scoreless baseball in relief.  Game 2 was similar as the Cougars tallied 7 hits, Braylon Harvey lead the team with 2 hits.  Cameron Christy got the start on the bump, but it was Thomas who threw 2 scoreless innings in relief.  JV’s overall record now stands at 5-3 with their next contest being at Gardner Edgerton on April 21st.

The Cougar CTeam saw much the same as they lost both games as well, 15-0 and 10-0.  Despite the number of runs scored,  Brandon Frazier battled on the mound.  Throwing 66% strikes and getting ahead of 17 batters in his 4 innings of work.  Bryce Forbes and Cameron Kelly lead the way offensively on the night.  Coach Williams said “These are games that we grow from and learn from.  We will see very strong teams in the Sunflower League and ONW is one of them.  However, my guys are gutty, hard working, and will learn from this and be ready to move on to Gardner Edgerton.”  Your CTeam record is stands at 2-5-1 and will travel to Gardner Edgerton on April 20th.
