Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Cougars Open 6A State Wednesday


Lady Cougars will continue their march to a 6A State Championship when they open first round play on Wednesday vs Derby (4 seed) at a game being played at Koch Arena in Wichita.  Tip time is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.

The Lady Cougars punched their ticket to Wichita after earning the number one seed upon completion of a 16-4 season.  As Substate host the Lady Cougars defeated Mill Valley in their semifinal game before defeating Sunflower League foe, Olathe Northwest 48-27 in the finals Friday night, behind some lock down defense.

Please remember as fans we are guests of the facility, we ask that all fans abide by the following guidelines.

  • No Helium filled balloons or confetti of any type is permitted in the facility.
  • Spectators are assigned seating locations according to a predetermined assignment made by the KSHSAA, not necessarily based on the seed of the team.  Please observe these seating assignments.
  • No artificial noisemakers are allowed in the facility.
  • No spirit props, balls, t-shirts or any other item may be thrown out to the crowd by spirit groups.
  • Banners and signs are acceptable as long as they are not derogatory.  They are to be attached with zip ties or string only.
  • All fans are to abide by Rule 52 and display good Sportsmanship.
  • Fans must stay off the court after the conclusion of all games.
  • No coolers or outside food or drink are allowed in the facility.
  • No backpacks or drawstring bags are permitted in the facility.
  • Ticket gates open one hour before first game each day.
  • Credit and debit cards are accepted, however there is a convenience fee added to the price of the ticket.
