A very young Cougar wrestling team, comprised of mainly freshmen and sophomores battled to a third place finish at the Wyandotte Invitational on Saturday .
Eight Cougar wrestlers saw the podium on Saturday, lead by Alvin Horner, junior, who was crowned champion at the 195 lb weight class.
Other Cougars to step up on the podium included Jack Overesch 2nd place, 106 lbs; Tyler Munsayakham 3rd place, 120 lbs; Xavier Reyes 2nd place, 126 lbs; Vance Tran, 5th place, 132 lbs; Billy Scarlett, 3rd place, 182 lbs; Jack Mudgett, 4th place, 182 lbs; and Elijah Aguirre 4th place HWT.
The Cougars varsity will be back in action on Saturday when they host the 16 team Cougar Classic Wrestling Invitational. Wrestling will begin at 9:30 a.m.
